A townhouse steeped in history
Since 1968, the former Hotel Juliane has been a haven of hospitality in Merano. It has grown over the decades, welcoming many guests time and again whilst retaining its unique character. Today, Marlen Inderst, as owner and managing director, is leading the hotel into a new era. With the comprehensive refurbishment, a new chapter is now beginning, along with a new name.
PINEA is derived from Pinus pinea, the Mediterranean pine. Two ancient pine trees, as tall as the building itself, have been a defining feature of the large garden for many years and symbolise what the PINEA Garden Aparthotel Merano is all about: tranquillity, consistency and the Mediterranean way of life. Much of what guests have come to appreciate over the decades remains unchanged: the spacious garden, the excellent cuisine, the generous breakfast and the personalised service. New additions include 19 high-quality holiday apartments, complemented by well-thought-out facilities that allow for greater independence whilst retaining the hotel’s familiar comfort and personalised service.
Taking the concept further for a new generation
The decision to opt for an aparthotel stemmed from a shift in the way people travel. Many guests nowadays want to plan their holidays more spontaneously and decide for themselves how their day – and especially their evening – will unfold. This is precisely why the PINEA Garden Aparthotel Merano will, in future, combine two worlds: the independence of a holiday flat and the service of a hotel.
