Thinking one step further
A townhouse with an eye to the future
As part of the comprehensive refurbishment of the PINEA Garden Aparthotel Merano, the building is also being made more energy-efficient and its building services are being completely overhauled. A heat pump and a photovoltaic system form part of the new concept, as do the existing charging points for electric cars and e-bikes.
In our day-to-day operations, too, we focus on sustainable practices. These include using regional produce with short transport distances for breakfast and in the in-house shop, as well as providing ways to explore Merano and the surrounding area without needing a car.
New technology for a house steeped in history
The building’s existing architecture will be preserved and will undergo comprehensive energy-efficiency refurbishment as part of the renovation. Heating and air conditioning will in future be provided by a heat pump. A photovoltaic system will also generate electricity.
The aim is for the refurbished building to achieve ‘KlimaHaus B’ classification. The relevant certification will only be granted once the works have been completed and inspected. The redesign thus combines a sensitive approach to the existing building with state-of-the-art building services.
Out and about in Merano and the surrounding area
For guests travelling by electric vehicle, the PINEA Garden Aparthotel Merano has two charging points, each with a capacity of up to 22 kW AC (for a fee). E-bike batteries can also be charged on site.
There are plenty of places you can visit during your holiday without needing your own car. Free city bikes are available for trips in and around Merano. The nearest bus stop is around 100 metres from the aparthotel, and the historic centre is also within easy walking distance. So, if you wish, you can simply leave your car behind during your stay. Thanks to the South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can use public transport in South Tyrol free of charge during your stay at the PINEA Garden Aparthotel Merano.
