South Tyrol’s golf courses are located at a variety of altitudes. Particularly popular are Golfclub Lana, with its 9-hole course, and Golfclub Passeier.Meran, featuring a challenging 18-hole course. Merano’s location at around 300 metres above sea level, combined with the mountains rising steeply just beyond the town, creates exceptional conditions for trail running. Shaded woodland paths give way to alpine trails, while routes at higher elevations cross mountain pastures and ridgelines. Depending on the route, runners can choose anything from short, steep training sessions to longer runs with significant elevation gain.

For those who prefer exploring the rock face, the Merano region offers a variety of exciting via ferrata routes. Particularly impressive is the Heini-Holzer via ferrata on Mount Ifinger, accessible from Merano 2000, which rewards climbers with fantastic views over Merano.
